Like a scene out of “The Hangover,” neighbors were startled to see a tiger creeping around a Houston neighborhood Sunday evening.
A video sent to KHOU-11 shows a tiger with a collar crawling in a front yard.
“It’s someone’s pet,” someone in the video said.
In another video, an off-duty sheriff’s deputy was holding a gun while yelling at the person who was taking the tiger inside, KHOU-11 reported.
The Houston Police Department told USA TODAY they responded to a call about a vicious animal but when they arrived, the tiger was no longer there.
HPD said the animal was put in a white Jeep Cherokee vehicle and the suspect fled the scene at a high rate of speed. Officers were not able to locate the suspect, and no one has been charged or detained as of Monday morning.
Unusual sightings of animals haven’t been uncommon in the Houston area recently. Last month an alligator and cow slowed down commuters when they took over two different highways on the same day.
