G’morning, my friend! Happy first Saturday of October. Boo! 👻
I awoke to a bevy of breakfast treats this a.m. — hot coffee and a box of pastries from Rustic Bakery. El Hub goes first thing every Saturday morning so Connor and I can start our day with hot croissants.
I used to love making a big, fancy breakfast on the weekends, and I’m sure I’ll get back to that eventually, but for now I very much enjoy taking it chill. I think one of the most underrated joys in life is reading magazines on a weekend morning while having a buttery, yummy Meyer lemon croissant with coffee you didn’t have to make!
Side note: I don’t know why, but for some reason the act of filling the coffee maker and pushing the “on” button on Saturday morning is particularly brutal on my brain. Any other day of the week is fine, though.
Anywho, that’s what’s going on here this morning. I’m behind on my reading, so I’m catching up on the October issues of “Allure” (it’s their Best of Beauty edition) and “Real Simple.” I also bought this special edition of “Better Homes & Garden’s Meal Planning” because I’m getting so tired of scrambling to figure out what to feed the animals (specifically, El Hub and Connor) every night.
